David Dewar is a highly experienced conductor and instrumentalist.

His performances as conductor, as organist, and as continuo player (harpsichord or organ) have attracted considerable acclaim from audience and performers alike.

Performances as organist, whether recitalist or continuo player, have encompassed cathedral, church, and concert hall.   As a conductor, both of orchestras and choirs, David has performed in venues ranging from large concert halls, churches and cathedrals, to small village halls, directing both professional and amateur players. As well as conducting, and playing keyboard, David is a player of the modern french horn, and has specialised in the technique relevant to the 18th century 'hand' or valveless horn - the type of instrument for which the music of Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, for example, was composed.

He is a member of the Royal College of Organists (RCO), a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA), a Fellow of the Metropolitan College of Music (MCM), a Licentiate of the Guild of Musicians and Singers (GMS), a Fellow of the Australian Guild of Church Musicians, a Fellow of the Irish Guild of Organists and Choristers, and a Fellow of the Academy of St Cecilia. He is a member of the Association of British Choral Directors (ABCD) and of the RSCM.

He has worked with the musicians of many cathedrals and churches on projects ranging from workshops for organists, through courses for choristers, to full scale concerts with chorus and orchestra..
